Excursion to the Meerdael forest (Oud-Heverlee)<\/strong>

Together with the For\u00eat de Soignes and the Bois de Hal, the For\u00eat de Meerdael is a remnant of the great Brabant coal forest. It is an ancient forest with a rich forestry and natural heritage. We'll be touring the forest in the company of agents from the Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos, who will be explaining their forest renewal policy, based largely on the control of natural regeneration, supplemented by the introduction of cell-enrichment plantations (klumps). The project for a new Flemish public forest management policy, adapted in particular in response to climate change, will also be presented.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>
