Shaping the forest of tomorrow<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In this International Forest Day<\/a>We were delighted to present the concept of mosaic forest.
<\/strong>It is the tool proposed by the Royal Forestry Society of Belgium to design and implement the forest of the future. Tomorrow's forest will be more resilient to disease and climate change if the ecosystems that make it up and the silvicultures that are applied to it are diversified. This forest will host more biodiversity and better respond to the services expected by society. Every forester - manager, public or private owner - is the guarantor of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can we improve the resilience of our forests today?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

By diversifying it! But how do you diversify?<\/strong> By increasing diversification in all these areas: species, silvicultural practices, genetics and micro-habitats<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This forest development model has been popularised by the ONF (Office National des For\u00eats, France) in the context of adapting forests to climate change. The Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Royale Foresti\u00e8re de Belgique (SRFB, Belgium) fully endorses this conception of the forest and intends to promote it among its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
